Now offering
16x20 Portraits
This is your chance to get a life sized portrait
My homemade 16x20 camera uses the wet plate collodion process to make ambrotypes :
This is just like a tintype, but on glass instead of a thin aluminum sheet.
Making a portrait this size takes a lot of time and energy. For that reason I will only be offering one each month.
Please watch the video and carefully read all the information before scheduling an appointment.
What are you getting yourself in to?
It will likely take two to five hours to make this portrait
The portrait includes a hand made frame
There is a two face limit
When you arrive to the studio there will be a lengthy interview process which will allow us to get to know one another and get comfortable in each other’s presence. I will ask you questions to help you set intentions for this photo and to understand what your want from this image. Once we have thoroughly discussed the desired outcome of our time together we will make a small test plate and then move on to make the 16x20 plate. After that I will spend the next two weeks finishing and framing the photo before you can pick it up and take it home.
Intention is everything….
Taking the time to set intentions gives meaning to the photograph
Bring an open mind and an honest heart
I’m sure you have many questions
